Young People into Business

In rural Scotland, finding a career you can develop where you live can leave you with limited options. Mostly it is hard enough just finding all year round employment if you want to stay in your home town or return after further education. As a young person thinking about your future, running your own business doesn't usually register as an option; it is something you do when you're older, have made some money or have more life experience.

However these are perceptions that are not necessarily true when you have the right idea and direction. Through TERMS we will put you into contact with successful businesses run by young people who have taken that step a little earlier. We will introduce you to a variety of new business ideas to inspire you to think differently about your future and widen the possibilities available to you. And when we say young we mean from 15 to 30 years old!

We will do this via lunch-time meetings, career days, enterprise visits to people's businesses and utilising the Young Enterprise Scotland initiative in McLaren School & the Callander Youth Project.
