TERMS- Trossachs Enterprise and Rural Mentoring Scheme is a pilot project sponsored by our partner agencies with two main aims
- To support start ups and rural businesses throughout the Trossachs area with mentoring support
- We will provide knowledge and expertise from local business people to supplement the skills learned through the business support agencies. Learn more about what mentoring can do for you on our Will Mentoring Help Me page.
- To support the mentoring, Enterprise Visits to local successful businesses will be conducted to inspire ideas, provide information and networking opportunities with other people in business.
- Informal evening meetings will be used to discuss specific issues that are important to a number of businesses engaged in the project with access to information and mentors that can help.
- A Development Fund is being made available to businesses engaged in the scheme to overcome specific barriers in starting up; this might be a one off training course that the person needs to get going.
- To inspire young people to think about going into business for themselves as an option for their future
- We will work with the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust, Callander Youth Project & McLaren High School to inspire and support young people to set up in business in the Trossachs area.
- We will engage young people in the area by taking them on Enterprise Visits to interesting local businesses, giving them access to young people in business and resources that will inspire ideas and networking opportunities.
- We will organise an annual field trip to a National Park to study and workshop how other rural businesses and communities are developing in response to the UK Tourism Market opening opportunities for developing business here.
